Dubai Offers Three Days of Free Public Parking This National Day Weekend

Dubai,UAE: As the UAE prepares for its National Day celebrations, Dubai’s transport authorities have confirmed a three-day waiver on public parking fees — giving motorists a welcome break during the long weekend. According to the announcement, public parking will be free on Sunday, November 30, and continue through Monday, December 1, and Tuesday, December 2. Parking fees are set to resume on Wednesday, December 3. 

This free-parking initiative comes under the banner of the holiday festivities around Eid Al Etihad (the informal name often used for National Day holiday weekends), and aims to ease the burden on residents and visitors as many travel, shop, or attend events during this festive period. 

What’s Included — and What’s Not

The waiver applies to all standard public parking zones managed by RTA across the city. However, certain exceptions apply: multi-storey car parks and the Al Khail Gate N-365 zone remain excluded, meaning parking charges will still apply in those areas even during the free period. 

This pattern — free standard on-street parking but paid special-zone parking — matches how previous holiday parking waivers have been implemented in Dubai.

• Stick to standard public parking zones to avail free parking — avoid multi-storey or Al Khail Gate N-365 if you want fee-free parking.
• Expect high demand, especially near malls, beaches, popular attractions — free parking may fill up faster than usual. It’s wise to plan early or consider public transport where possible.
• Use RTA transport (metro/tram/bus) where feasible — extended holiday schedule makes it easier to avoid traffic and parking hassles entirely.

Pattern of Holiday Parking Waivers in Dubai

This move is part of a recurring pattern. Dubai, like many other emirates, has previously offered free public parking during major holidays — including religious and national holidays. For instance, public parking was waived during Eid Al Fitr 2025 and during the holiday for Prophet’s Birthday. 

Such waivers reflect efforts by the city to support residents’ mobility during holidays, encourage use of public amenities, and manage congestion with a combination of incentives and public transport support.
