Emirates is operating a limited flight schedule with over 100 services on March 5 and 6 as regional airspace disruptions continue to impact aviation across the Middle East.
Dubai: Emirates Airline has announced that it will continue operating a limited number of flights until further notice as regional airspace disruptions continue to affect aviation across the Middle East.
The Dubai-based carrier confirmed that more than 100 flights are scheduled to depart from and arrive in Dubai on March 5 and 6. These services are aimed at assisting passengers traveling to their final destinations while also ensuring the movement of essential cargo.
According to the airline, the flights will carry critical supplies including perishables and pharmaceutical products, in addition to passengers who already hold confirmed bookings. Emirates said the current limited schedule is part of efforts to safely maintain operations while regional airspace conditions remain uncertain.
The airline added that it plans to gradually restore its full flight schedule once airspace availability improves and all operational requirements are met. Safety remains the airline’s highest priority during this period of disruption.
Passengers have been advised to travel to the airport only if they have a confirmed reservation. Authorities are also urging travelers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
The disruption in aviation operations comes after several countries in the region temporarily closed their airspace due to rising geopolitical tensions. As a result, UAE airports have largely paused regular scheduled flights, although limited and special services are continuing to operate to help stranded residents and citizens return home.
Other UAE national carriers have also taken precautionary measures. Airlines including Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia have suspended some of their scheduled operations until March 9 as the situation continues to evolve.
Meanwhile, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced that travel procedures have been completed for more than 30,900 passengers across the country’s airports. The authority coordinated with aviation and security agencies to manage passenger movement during the temporary suspension of regular flights.
These procedures were carried out at several major airports across the UAE, including Zayed International Airport, Dubai Airports, Sharjah International Airport, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Fujairah International Airport.
Regional aviation has been facing uncertainty following escalating tensions in the Middle East. The situation intensified after military actions involving a US-Israel coalition targeting Iranian-linked sites, leading to wider security concerns and airspace restrictions.
Despite the challenges, UAE authorities continue to work closely with airlines and aviation bodies to ensure safe travel operations and assist passengers affected by the disruptions.
