Emirates Unveils Special Inflight & Lounge Entertainment for UAE National Day

Emirates introduces special inflight and lounge entertainment for UAE National Day, featuring Emirati-inspired cuisine, themed cabin ambience, and curated cultural content for travellers.

Emirates is marking the UAE’s National Day with an enhanced cultural experience across its flights and airport lounges, offering passengers a blend of Emirati heritage, themed entertainment, and locally inspired cuisine. The initiative is part of the airline’s annual celebration of the nation’s identity and its growing cultural influence.

A Festive Atmosphere Across Emirates Flights

Travellers flying with Emirates on the occasion will be welcomed into cabins decorated with soft ambient lighting that reflects the colours of the UAE flag, giving the entire journey a patriotic ambience. Onboard, passengers across all classes will receive Emirati-inspired sweet treats, with each cabin category receiving its own unique selection.

  • First and Business Class customers will be served elegantly presented desserts such as gahwa-flavoured tarts and fig-based delicacies.
  • Premium Economy guests will enjoy themed pastries like pistachio rahash tart.
  • Economy Class passengers will receive “batheeth,” a traditional date-based sweet reinterpreted with white chocolate and pistachio.

These limited-edition items are served only during National Day departures from Dubai.

Lounges Offering Authentic Emirati Flavours

Inside Emirates’ First-Class and Business-Class lounges at Dubai International Airport, visitors can enjoy a special menu prepared for the celebrations. Dishes include classic Emirati favourites such as lamb ouzi, chicken machbous, and various sweets inspired by local flavours. Special desserts — from Umm Ali reinterpretations to date-rich ice creams — highlight the region’s culinary heritage.

Entertainment Curated Around UAE Culture

A significant part of the celebration includes updates to Emirates’ award-winning ice inflight entertainment system. For National Day, the airline has curated a collection of films, TV programmes, music playlists, and podcasts that spotlight:

  • Emirati traditions
  • UAE history
  • Local artists and filmmakers
  • Regional food and travel content
  • Cultural documentaries and storytelling

This curated content is aimed at giving passengers — both residents and international travellers — a deeper look into the UAE’s cultural landscape.

Connecting Passengers with Emirati Identity

Emirates says the seasonal initiative reflects its commitment to celebrating the UAE’s heritage. By combining themed entertainment, regional cuisine, and festive cabin ambience, the airline hopes to create a meaningful experience that showcases the spirit of the country.

Available for a Limited Time

The special National Day offerings will be available for flights departing Dubai around the National Day period and in select lounges. Availability may differ based on aircraft type, destination, and cabin class.
