Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane has been finalized to headline Ektaa R Kapoor’s upcoming crime thriller titled Shootout in Dubai. The project marks the franchise’s first shift outside India, taking the narrative from Mumbai’s underworld to Dubai’s modern metropolitan backdrop.
The film is being developed by Ektaa R Kapoor with long-time collaborator Sanjay Gupta, expanding the franchise known for Shootout at Lokhandwala and Shootout at Wadala. Following its earlier success, the creators are aiming to introduce a new scale, tone, and style to match the Dubai setting.
Reports indicate that the script has been structured for larger cinematic moments, incorporating Dubai’s high-rise skyline, highways, and nightlife as visual elements. The story is expected to feature fresh plotlines rather than continuing the semi-biographical tone of the earlier films.
