The festive break is set to begin on Thursday, March 19, 2026, marking the final day of Ramadan, with Eid celebrations commencing on Friday, March 20, 2026. In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that public parking spaces will be free for the first three days of Eid. However, motorists should note that multi-storey parking facilities will continue to charge fees during this period. Normal parking tariffs will resume from the fourth day of Eid.
Additionally, parking solutions provider ParkinUAE has confirmed a slightly extended timeline for free parking, starting from Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22, excluding multi-storey parking areas. Regular tariffs will come back into effect on Monday, March 23.
Private operator Parkonic has also highlighted that parking conditions may differ depending on location. Some areas may continue to enforce standard charges during the holiday, and motorists are encouraged to review signage or consult official platforms for accurate information.
In the capital, Abu Dhabi authorities have implemented comprehensive measures to ease travel during Eid. The Mawaqif public parking system will offer free parking from March 19 to 22, with paid services resuming on March 23. Truck parking fees at Musaffah M-18 will also be waived during this time.
Furthermore, Darb toll gates will be suspended throughout the holiday period, allowing motorists to travel without incurring toll charges. Regular toll operations will restart on Monday, March 23.
Sharjah Municipality has also announced free parking for the first three days of Eid, offering convenience for both residents and visitors during the festive celebrations. However, fees will still apply in smart parking zones and designated areas.
Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has confirmed that paid parking will be waived from March 19 to 22, with regular operations resuming on March 23. Authorities also noted that municipal services and facilities will operate on adjusted schedules during the Eid period.
While the Eid holidays bring welcome relief in terms of parking and toll charges, motorists are urged to remain vigilant. Authorities across the UAE emphasize the importance of following blue informational signs and checking official announcements, particularly in private or multi-storey parking locations where charges may still apply.
