National Day, celebrated every year on December 2, marks the historic unification of the seven emirates and the founding of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. The 2025 edition will commemorate the country’s 54th year, promising a series of large-scale cultural, artistic, and community events.
Although the official holiday schedule has yet to be confirmed, government planners and insiders have hinted at a potential five-day break to allow the public to fully participate in the celebrations. If approved, the break could include public holidays from Monday, December 1, through Friday, December 5, followed by the weekend—making it one of the longest National Day holidays in recent years.
