UAE Retake Exams End Thursday; Final Results on July 14 Ministry of Education Confirms No Grade Changes After Results Are Released

Retake exams for UAE public and private school students following the Ministry of Education curriculum conclude on Thursday, with final results set to be announced on July 14. The Ministry has confirmed that no changes will be allowed once the results are released, and certified digital certificates will be issued for all eligible students.

The UAE Ministry of Education has confirmed that retake exams for students enrolled in public and private schools following the national curriculum will officially conclude on Thursday, July 10. These exams were held for students who did not pass their end-of-year assessments for the 2024–2025 academic year.

The final exam, Islamic Education, will be conducted as scheduled, marking the end of a week-long retake period that began on July 4. Students from Grades 4 to 12 participated in the assessments, with Grade 4 students taking paper-based tests and those in Grades 5 to 12 completing their exams electronically. The Ministry maintained a rigorous evaluation framework aligned with its national standards throughout the examination period.

Results to Be Released on July 14

Following the conclusion of the exams, result processing and analysis will begin immediately. The Ministry of Education has announced that final results will be officially released on Sunday, July 14, coinciding with the start of the summer break for teaching and administrative staff.

Special Instructions for Grade 12 Students

Grade 12 students have been advised to collect their health records by Thursday, July 10, between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Schools have also emphasized the return of Ministry-issued tablets, a prerequisite for receiving exam results. Students must sign an acknowledgment form upon return to ensure there are no delays in accessing their final marks.

No Changes to Final Grades

In response to frequent inquiries from parents regarding grade modifications and GPA visibility, the Ministry has reiterated its firm policy: once final results are approved and published, no changes will be allowed under any circumstances.

The Ministry emphasized that students underwent multiple assessments throughout the academic year, providing ample opportunities to demonstrate progress and receive academic support. This policy, it stated, ensures fairness and integrity in reporting academic achievement.

A clear message was also posted on the Ministry’s official website, stating that no exceptions will be made in this regard.

Digitally Certified Certificates Now Standard

As part of its digital transformation initiative, the Ministry announced that all certificates for Grades 1 through 12 are now issued electronically with an official digital seal and QR code for authenticity. These certificates are valid for use within the UAE.

Grade 12 students may also request up to three printed copies of their certificates for international use, provided they are authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). Additionally, digital certificates issued since 2018 can be authenticated for global use via MoFA channels.

Students from private schools that follow the Ministry curriculum and sat for retake exams will be able to download their certified certificates from the Student Portal once results are published. These documents can then be printed and authenticated for further use if required.

Simplified Certificate Authentication Process

In a significant improvement to administrative processes, the Ministry now offers digitally certified certificates that can bear both the MoFA seal and the UAE Embassy stamp of the destination country, all through its digital platforms. This innovation eliminates the need for manual processing at MoFA offices and significantly speeds up authentication procedures.

For private schools offering foreign curricula, certificates can still be authenticated digitally through official Ministry channels. However, certificates from schools in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah must first be certified by the respective local authorities:

  • Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)
  • Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai
  • Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA)

GPA and Grade Reporting Details

The Ministry clarified that individual subject scores are visible in the Student Portal for all students. However, overall GPA details for Grade 12 students appear only on the final certificate, and only for those who pass their assessments.

For students in Grades 1 to 11, certificates display letter grades only, as these levels are not considered for university admissions. In contrast, Grade 12 certificates present:

  • Numeric grades for Group A subjects (used in GPA calculations)
  • Letter grades for Group B subjects, which are excluded from GPA computation

Ensuring Academic Transparency and Integrity

The Ministry of Education reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent and fair assessment system. It stressed the importance of following official channels for all certificate verifications and inquiries. With the use of secure digital platforms and a structured reporting timeline, the Ministry continues to modernize the education sector while prioritizing student success and academic integrity.

Students and parents are encouraged to access the Student Portal for updates and to utilize official Ministry platforms for all administrative services.
