The UAE is experiencing another day of intense summer heat as temperatures surge across major cities, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. According to weather experts, the mercury is peaking at 43°C, making it one of the hottest days this summer season.
In Dubai, residents can expect partly to mostly sunny skies during the day. Although night will bring slightly cooler temperatures, it will remain warm with lows around 36°C. The current temperature is 35°C, but it feels like 37°C due to high humidity and heat reflection from buildings and roads.
Abu Dhabi is also facing similar weather. Daytime highs will also reach 43°C, with the night temperature expected to drop to about 33°C. The capital is currently recording 34°C, with a real-feel of 36°C.
Dust and Winds Pose Health Risks
Along with high temperatures, dusty winds are sweeping through both cities. These winds can reduce visibility and pose respiratory risks, especially for those with asthma or allergies. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned that light to moderate winds may become stronger in the western areas, stirring up sand and dust.
Humidity levels are also on the rise, making the heat feel even more uncomfortable. Residents may experience reduced air quality, especially during peak wind activity.
Fog Formation Likely Overnight
The NCM has also forecasted a potential for fog or mist to form overnight and into Friday morning, particularly in western coastal and internal regions. Rising humidity after sunset is a key factor that could lead to reduced visibility in some areas during early morning hours.
Cloud activity is expected to increase in the eastern regions, where convective clouds could develop by afternoon. While there is no official thunderstorm warning, such clouds can sometimes lead to sudden weather changes.
Precautionary Advice for Residents
Health officials have advised all residents, especially children, the elderly, and outdoor workers, to take necessary precautions. The current weather conditions are considered hazardous for extended outdoor activity, particularly during midday hours.
Precautionary tips include:
Stay indoors during peak heat hours (12 PM to 4 PM)
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
Use sunscreen and wear hats or umbrellas if you must go out
Wear a mask or face covering if sensitive to dust and air pollutants
Avoid intense physical activity during the day
Marine Forecast: Moderate Conditions Ahead
Those heading to the coast should be aware that sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be slight to moderate, with no major warnings issued for marine activities. However, due to dusty conditions inland, visibility may still be limited in some areas near the coast.
Looking Ahead
As the weekend approaches, temperatures are expected to remain high, with no immediate relief in sight. Authorities are monitoring conditions and may issue additional advisories if the weather worsens.
Residents are encouraged to follow updates from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) and stay connected to local news platforms for the latest alerts.
