Delhi to Jaipur in Three Hours: Trial Run Begins on New Expressway Link

In a major step toward revolutionizing road travel in India, the trial run for the new Delhi–Jaipur expressway link has officially begun. The high-speed corridor, part of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, aims to slash travel time between the two cities from nearly six hours to just three hours.
The newly operational stretch connects Sohna (Haryana) to Dausa (Rajasthan), covering approximately 250 kilometers. Designed for high-speed travel, the expressway features controlled entry and exit points, eight lanes (expandable to 12), automated toll collection, CCTV surveillance, and other modern safety features.
During the trial run, conducted by officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), multiple vehicle types tested road conditions, average speeds, and system responsiveness. Initial feedback indicates that the road performed exceptionally well, supporting speeds up to 120 km/h in designated sections.
This expressway link is a game-changer for both commuters and freight transporters, significantly reducing fuel costs and cutting down carbon emissions. The smooth, signal-free drive also promises a boost to tourism, industry, and inter-city trade between Delhi and Jaipur.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had earlier announced that the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway would be one of the most advanced in the world, with features like EV charging stations, emergency helplines, and wildlife crossings to ensure sustainability and safety.
The expressway is expected to open to the public soon, following final safety checks and system calibrations. Once fully operational, it will not only reduce travel time but also redefine long-distance road travel in India.
