UAE Starts New 3-Year Government Plan with Focus on AI and Future Goals

The UAE has launched a new 3-year federal government plan focused on AI, smart resource use, and fast, flexible strategies. Aligned with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ Vision, the plan involves 38 government bodies and includes streamlined processes, innovation, and data-driven decisions to drive sustainable national progress.

The United Arab Emirates has started a new plan for how the federal government will work over the next three years. This updated planning cycle is shorter than before and is built to help the country move faster toward its goals in the ‘We the UAE 2031’ Vision. A big focus of this plan is the use of artificial intelligence (AI), saving resources, and making government actions quicker and smarter.

Strong Support from the Country's Leadership

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and also the Ruler of Dubai, announced the start of this new plan. He said that the UAE government always wants to be ready for the future. He explained that good planning, smart use of resources, and the use of technology like AI are now more important than long and slow procedures.

He told all ministries and government departments to update their strategies and make them more flexible, smart, and based on new technologies. These strategies must help the country reach the goals of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ Vision faster.

Major Changes in How the Government Plans

This new plan involves 38 government departments. It aims to:

  • Use artificial intelligence in daily work
  • Make procedures easier and faster
  • Use resources like time and money more carefully
  • Shorten the planning cycle from 5 years to 3 years so the country can react more quickly to global changes

The plan has been launched under the theme “Towards Achieving We the UAE 2031 Vision”, showing the strong connection between the new planning method and the country's long-term goals.

Strategic Workshop to Guide Government Teams

To help government teams understand the new plan, a special workshop was held by the Prime Minister’s Office. Strategy directors from many departments joined this meeting.

The workshop focused on how to:

  • Plan ahead for the future
  • Make decisions using data and facts
  • Reduce the amount of paperwork and time spent on long procedures
  • Work together between departments to meet the same national goals
  • Combine money planning with policy-making
  • Use new ideas to solve national challenges

Some important strategies that support the 2031 Vision were also reviewed, including:

  • The National Cybersecurity Strategy
  • The National Investment Strategy

These were shared as examples of how good planning and innovation can lead to strong national progress.

Focus on Real Results and Innovation

Huda Al Hashimi, who leads Strategy and Government Innovation for the UAE Government, talked about how far the government has come. She said many departments have already turned big goals into real plans and actions. She also looked back at key successes from the last planning cycle. She said that strategic innovation—using smart and new ideas—is helping the UAE build a strong and sustainable future.
